Punycode Definition

The standard for IDN (Internationalized Domain Names) on domain name encoding, is to maintain backward compatibility and does not influence the protocol of existing application.The encoding method in converting multi-languages domain into ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange)code is known as “punycode”.

The length of application on Chinese and Portuguese domain name is limited to 63 characters, and the domain name must have a length of not more than 63 characters after the transcoding of punycode.
